CCPA/GDPR Privacy Rights
Effective date: June 4, 2026
This page summarizes privacy rights that may apply to California, EU, UK, and other residents. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. Who Can Use This Page
Privacy rights vary by location and by the law that applies to a request. We will honor applicable rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, the GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar privacy laws when they apply to Effortless Apply and to your request.
2. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have the right to request that we:
- Disclose categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
- Explain the categories of sources, purposes, and third parties involved in our use or disclosure of personal information.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information where applicable.
- Limit use or disclosure of sensitive personal information where applicable.
- Use the Service without discrimination for exercising applicable CCPA rights.
3. EU and UK Privacy Rights
If GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have the right to:
- Be informed about how your personal data is processed.
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Delete personal data in certain circumstances.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive certain data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
4. Legal Bases for GDPR Processing
- Contract: account operation, job discovery, application submission, billing, support, and service delivery.
- Consent: optional Gmail access, optional EEO information where required, and optional communications or settings that rely on consent.
- Legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention, service improvement, diagnostics, customer support, and enforcing our Terms.
- Legal obligations: tax, accounting, fraud prevention, valid legal requests, dispute handling, and compliance obligations.
5. How to Submit a Request
Email support@effortlessapply.ai with:
- The email address tied to your Effortless Apply account.
- The right you want to exercise, such as access, deletion, correction, portability, opt-out, or limitation.
- Any details needed to locate the relevant account or data.
- If you are an authorized agent, proof that you are allowed to act for the account holder.
You can also export your data or delete your account from account settings when signed in.
6. Verification and Timing
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling access, deletion, correction, or portability requests. Verification protects your account from unauthorized disclosure or deletion.
We aim to respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. Some requests may be denied, limited, or extended where the law allows, such as when data is needed for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, billing records, dispute handling, or completion of a transaction you requested.
7. Limits After Application Submission
Effortless Apply can act on information in our systems. Once an application has been submitted to an employer, ATS platform, job board, or other third party, that party controls its own copy. Deletion or correction requests for already-submitted applications may need to be sent directly to that employer or platform.
8. Sale, Sharing, and Sensitive Information
We do not sell personal information for money and do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See our Do Not Sell or Share page for opt-out details.
We use sensitive information only as needed to provide the Service you requested, comply with law, secure the Service, or as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy. Voluntary EEO information is not used to score jobs or decide which jobs to show you.
