Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective date: June 4, 2026

This policy explains how billing, cancellation, and refunds work for Effortless Apply. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service (Section 9, Plans, Trials, Billing, and Refunds). If anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

1. The free trial is genuinely free

New accounts start with a usage-based free trial: your first 15 successful applications are free, and a card may be required before automated applications begin. The free application allowance itself does not create a charge. Checkout shows any selected plan's billing timing before confirmation. We will never charge you without you first selecting a plan and providing payment, so there is nothing to refund for the free application allowance.

2. Paid-plan trials (card on file)

When you choose a paid plan, you may be offered a card-on-file trial of that plan (currently 1 day) at checkout. If you start one:

  • You are not charged when the trial begins.
  • Your selected plan begins billing automatically at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends.
  • To avoid the charge, cancel before the trial end date from Settings → Billing (or the Stripe billing portal linked there). The exact trial length and the price that will apply are shown at checkout before you confirm.

3. Subscriptions, renewal & cancellation

  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly, on the anniversary of your subscription start date, and renew automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals; it takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until that date.
  • We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law.

4. Refunds

Effortless Apply submits applications and runs AI on your behalf in real time — those resources are consumed as you use the Service and cannot be reclaimed. Accordingly:

  • Applications already submitted are non-refundable. Once the Service has submitted applications during a billing period, fees for that period are not refundable.
  • Accidental purchase: if you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 48 hours of the charge and before any meaningful usage of the paid plan, and we will review it in good faith for a refund.
  • Service issues: if a verified, reproducible technical fault on our side materially prevented you from using the Service for a paid period, contact us with the details and we will review your situation in good faith.
  • One-time application packs (overage credits) are consumable and are non-refundable once any credit from the pack has been used.

Where a refund is granted, it is issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction.

5. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, we retry according to Stripe's standard dunning schedule. Continued payment failure may pause automated applications and suspend paid features until payment is resolved. Your account and data are not deleted for a failed payment — see the Privacy Policy for retention and deletion details.

6. How to cancel or request a refund

  • Cancel a subscription or trial: Settings → Billing (this opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel, switch plans, or update your card).
  • Request a refund or ask a billing question: email support@effortlessapply.ai with your account email and the charge in question.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Material changes are announced the same way as changes to our Terms (email notice at least 30 days before they take effect for material changes). The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
